GREEN UPDATE ...

My car went for it's first service this morning (a year old and 15 000 km on the clock ...). After seeing the headlines in "The Sunday Times" about {Toyota admitting that the Fortuner was "unstable"} I was even happier that it was time for a service since Toyota can now check if my car is "unstable" and rectify whatever needs to be done ... I hope ... Anyway, I cannot believe that my car is already a year old ... time certainly is not slowing down but progressing faster than ever ... a sign of the times????

We went to Johannesburg this past weekend for my cousin, Trent's wedding ... and what a divine wedding it was ... very casual and relaxed and certainly very special. The ceremony was held at the Bedfordview Chapel and Trent swept his bride, Heather, almost off of her feet with his kiss of pure joy when they were pronounced husband and wife ... so sweet ...

(my cousins, Tyrone, Trent and Dean, have grown so and I couldn't believe how gorgeous and gentle and sweet they all are ... well done Aunty Wends and Uncle Steve - you have raised amazing men)

I fell in absolute love with the wedding cake - a frothy feathery chocolate mousse affair - simply gorgeous (the pics are on Greg's laptop but I WILL post them in the next few days). Trent and Heather were sealed in the Johannesburg South Africa Temple and then photos were taken in the gardens of the Temple including some lovely family shots!! A bit of a family reunion really - it was great!!!

We then went on to Moyo's at Zoo Lake - this is my new favourite place (and I believe there is one here in Durbs - yippee!!!) The food was not marvellous BUT the atmosphere more than made up for that. Friendly, relaxed, casual yet so elegant and almost a little exclusive but very welcoming ... who could ask for anything more ... My best part was when the Waitresses painted our faces in typical African celebratory tradition ... will post those pics as well during the course of this week ...

Congrats once again Trent and Heather and enjoy your Honeymoon in the 'Berg ...

Okay now for my update on saving the Planet we call Earth one micro-mini footprint at a time ...

I looked closer - I saw more trees (tee hee) but I also saw the most amazing Sunset driving through the Free State - there is certainly nothing more beautiful than the silhouette of the landscape as the sun sets with gorgeous colours tinting the sky ... I even took some pics out of the window of our car as we were travelling as I was so in awe of the beauty of God's Creation ... (will post those later too). This is certainly a Planet worth saving ....

I WILL complete these tasks during the course of this next week ... (well, I'm going to try anyway ...)

  • I will smile when I answer the phone (I feel smilier this week thank goodness ... tee hee)
  • I will take my mom for a walk ...
  • I will start an exercise regime - BUT I declare here and now that I am NOT a gym bunny and I WILL NOT kill myself getting fitter - just so you know ... tee hee)
  • I will write letters to my nephews who live far away ...
  • I will explore my neighbourhood ...
As for the rest of the week ...

  • Bryce finishes exams on Friday (I am sooo relieved - he is doing OK)
  • I am preparing kits for a class I am teaching at a Church on Saturday
  • I am completing my next LO for Journaling Junkie
  • I am sorting through my Scrapping Studio and getting rid of a bit of junk
  • I am planning Christmas Lunch (am hosting 35 family members ... eeeekkk ....)
  • I am buying a few Christmas pressies ... loooove Christmas Shopping ...
  • I am completing Annie's Baby Shower decorations and Games
  • I am planning my Birthday Dinner for next week

All in all a good week awaits (okay, it's already Wednesday but I am being positive here ...) ...

Hope you too have a good one!!

Love,
