A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF THE GARDINER GANG ...

This past week it seems as though I have been on the go, non-stop, yet it appears as though I have not accomplished much ... sound familiar??? I am a poor time-keeper ... there I have said it ... I CAN BE very organised but more often than not I am chasing my tail and I feel exhausted by it so accomplish sweet nothing ... sigh ...

This is what this past week has been like ... a whole lot of nothing really but a busy week nonetheless...

On Monday I met with Lilian to discuss Annie's Baby Shower. It is intended to be a Surprise so I won't tell you too much about it but will definitely post afterwards. {Blonde roots that I am I left the invites on the table yesterday fully intending to get home before Annie (she works for my hubby so I know what times she is at the office ... tee hee ...) ONLY to arrive home after her with the result that she saw the covers of the invites ... grrr ... I am so DOF at times .... } My Zutter Bind-it-all and heavy-duty corner rounder arrived whilst I was out - what a treat ... can't wait to use these delicious PINK tools!!!

I spent Tuesday morning in the school library and had lunch with Belma at Spiga before picking up Bryce, who was leaving for White Mountain the following day. He and I spent the afternoon at the Pav looking for sneakers and a hoodie. We walked out of there 3 1/2 hours later with loads of snacks for the trip but NO sneakers and NO hoodie ... well, he certainly did not starve ....

Greg and I went to Europa for dinner on Wednesday night seeing as Bryce was away ... it was great spending some quality time with my handsome husband ... it felt as though we were having an illicit assignation ... tee hee ... all tingly and excited inside ...

On Thursday Belma and I went to Annemarie's house for a morning of scrapping - it was so much fun - we laughed until we cried ... the best medicine known to man ... Then Greg, Belma, Annie and I went to Oscars for dinner ... it was nice ...

I spent yesterday morning working on Annie's Baby Shower invitations then had my hair blow-dried and rushed off to so some much-needed grocery shopping ... grrr ... the stores are sooo busy on a Friday. Bryce arrived home safely at about 1.30pm - I missed him so and am so glad he is back (stinky, dirty and all)! Greg, Bryce and I met with Neville, Megan and 4-month old Kate (she is so cute - I fed her and rocked her to sleep - it's been a while since I held a tiny baby and it felt good) at Joe Kool's for a late lunch. Afterwards I sat on the beach while Greg and Bryce surfed. What is it about the beach that makes one feel so relaxed??? There is definitely a connection between the sea and the mind ... Took Bryce to Youth at the local Pool and then spent the evening at home. Needless to say Bryce fell asleep as soon as his little head touched the pillows ...
Looking back on the past week it seems as though every day was spent eating (I say this like it's a bad thing??? ... tee hee) .... BUT I did in fact spend alot of time driving around and running lots of little errands which seemed to take up so much of my time ... Boring to say the least, although I thoroughly enjoyed my alone-time with Greg and my friends and not having to run around fetching and carrying Bryce all week - sounds selfish but sometimes it's good not to be so responsibility-bound. Know what I mean???
Anyway chilling at home today - may complete invites later and then go to a movie with my boys ...
Hope your weekend is as chilled and that you are able to relax at home with your loved ones ...
Love,

Sounds like a great week - eating, scrapping, shopping...delish!

I know ALL bout being in the car girl. 3 kids. 3 different schools. 3 different start times. 3 different pick up times.

Am not looking forward to when the extra-curricular begins...may have to get a bus so I can set up my scrap space in the boot!!!

Time on your own is definately important, just because we become moms doesn't mean we have to loose ourselves or feel guilty when we enjoy a little bit of time for ourselves.....glad your boy is home safe and sound, it is so stressful when they are away...don't like my little chickens too far from the nest and am dreading nightclubbing in a few years time...especially in London!!!!
