BOM CHALLENGE No. 15

Here it is girls .... Challenge No. 15 ...

MEMENTO'S
Take a look around you. Do you see anything that is of significant importance to you? Have you kept a favourite childhood toy? Do you have a piece of jewellery that was given to you by somebody special or have you kept a gift from a relative or friend who has passed on or moved away? Do you have any family antiques or heirlooms in your home? Where did they come from? Do you remember receiving that toy/jewellery/gift. Why is it important to you? Does it have great monetary value or is the value of a more sentimental nature? Choose one or several items and create a layout about it/them. Include a photo and journal why it/they mean so much to you.

This one is due on the 9th March 2009 - no pressure girls, but I think we need to get back on track again with these Challenges ... we keep meaning to scrap about ourselves but we seem to be the least important on our lists - that is so not fair to us so let's play catch up for the next couple of weeks ...

If you need encouragement or help or suggestions etc just leave me a comment and I'll see what I can suck out of my thumb for you .... tee hee ...

YAY!!!! The Sharks won their match against the Lions - only their second match but they just HAVE TO go through the finals - man I love that game ... aggression and all ... of course, I was jumping up and down like a mad woman during the whole game - not sure what it is about the game of rugby that fires me up so ... maybe it's those gorgeous legs that ripple with muscle as they chase each other across the field ... ooh no, wait!!! That sounds suspect ... get that image out of my head - I just love the game ...

Today is my sister, Querita's birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTA

hope you had a good one and that I don't poison you with lunch tomorrow ... tee hee ... (I'm doing a roast beef AND a roast lamb, roast potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli with cheese sauce, baby carrots, corn, rice and (Woolies pre-made) gravy) - you gotta love Woolies, girls - makes life so much easier ... Gosh I haven't gone the whole nine yards for a while - hope I can still produce the goods ... tee hee ...

Have a great weekend!

Love,
P.S. Sophs and I are almost ready for the big reveal ....

SOME WEEKEND FUN ...

Remember I said I was joining an online crop on the weekend? Well, out of 12 challenges I managed to COMPLETE 4 - a few others (um ... 2) still in various stages of completion ...

The challenge here was to use heart punch-outs to create a flower ...

This Challenge was based on a plain blue/aqua giftbag from TIFFANY & Co, which, as we girls so eagerly know, contains BLING - so this is what I did - very simple, very quick and I love it!!!

On this card we had to use a journaling spot ... (and I used my favourite colours)

For this project we had to alter a chocolate/candy box - mine was an {empty} - yeah baby - Ferrero Rocher box from my birthday last year - I love how this turned out ...

Part of the Challenge was to create a mini album inside the box but I chose to create a name banner instead for my scraproom - will load all the letters later - sometimes when you tackle these challenges you realise that you may never actually have a need for the project that you have created and that is why I decided to make my name banner - I have wanted to for some time and I thought that since I would be busy anyway, I may as well do what I really wanted to ...
I had so much fun - thanks, Sophs for the encouragement along the way and for playing with me ...
Love,
P.S. Who's keen for an all-nighter with a few challenges????

BRANDED ...

I must confess immediately that this was a page I was supposed to submit for a journalingjunkie challenge but I was not very happy with it so it got shelved ...

I have decided this year that I will not be so critical of my work (we have good days and bad days) and so I will endeavour to show more of my work on this blog ...

So here goes ...

BRANDED
I am not a brandname girl, per se – I never have been really – but as I get older it seems that I’m more into quality rather than quantity (please note here that ALL scrapping goodies ARE quality … tee hee …). Last year (Nov 2007) I got my first seriously branded item – a pair of Versace sunglasses – and I looove them!! Maybe there is some merit in brands after all! (Dec 2008)

Hope you enjoy this little peek ...
